The sample letter used Ethos in a way that he mentioned the F.B.I records and studies done by doctors. The F.B.I are very reliable as they know how many murders are committed by guns and the study done by the doctors were published in The New England Journal of Medicine. The writer then proceeded to use Logos, the numbers and statics found in the passage stated by the experts and respectable people, to support his reason to have stricter laws on owning guns. Lastly, he used Pathos in such that he talked about an experience he went through, that his own son was killed due to letting a chile handle a gun by mistake, so that the Congressman would be touched and feel how much John Simmons really wants to have stricter laws. With all the evidence and statistics to support the reason, the letter becomes very persuasive.
