2. How do you feel about your group work in this GS lesson?
- Our group worked efficiently/didn't work efficiently because...
3. Do you like the GS activities in this lesson? Give reasons.
4. Any suggestion for the following GS lesson?

Thank you so much for your valuable insights!

  1. 1. GS is a nice concept but can be tedious and boring sometimes because we don't have enough interaction with other people besides our group members
    2. Could be better, maybe choose our groups instead of randomizing them?
    3. The activities themselves are fine but the writing the feedback out was unnecessary, it was a waste of paper when we could have used our computers instead.
    4. More fun an active?

  2. I am relatively satisfied with my learning in this GS lesson, with respects to the exploding moments. I had a chance and experience in trying out the explosion of moments, whereby suspense and interest in reading on is built up as the reader reads on. The attempt was good, and allowed us to be attached with experiential learning. Our literacy skills can be cultivated during the process, and I managed to learn and understand better about exploding moments.

Our group worked alright, however, it is not really that efficient in terms of the group discussions and the division of manual labour. The activities were more suited to individuals, and not much of a collaborative work. Hence, we had slight problems in managing the task, but the task was completed relatively well overall.

However, I feel that there could be more interactions involved. For the various group activities, it was not engaging enough in the sense that group members had a hard time discussing about the topic with regards to the flow of writing as there is only one task given. Apart from that, with the short one-period of english, a problem of time-constraint exists, where members are unable to think critically in that short frame of time to be able to explode well.

I feel that the GS activities can engage us further, by allowing the movements of members to various different groups and yet still being able to meet the targeted requirement, while extending our learning further to the next stage. So, maybe students could also go up front to use the interactive white boards.

  3. Mdm Zuraida, due to the fact that I was not present during the lesson, I do not have any reflections...

  4. 1. I am quite satisfied with my learning in this GS lesson. Exploding the moment gives me a chance to express my thoughts on the moment, and expand it to show the scene in very precise details, and further more, very fun to do so. It helps to extend our composition, and also allows better imagination of the story that was written.

Our group didn't work that efficiently because the activities we were asked to complete were more of individual work than group work, so it was a little harder to work efficiently as a group.

I like the GS activities in the lesson, because it was a fun experience, where we had to work in a group to explode the moment given to us, and describe the scene with a lot of details.

Next time maybe we should share our explosions on the big board in front, which will make the lesson more interactive.

  5. 1. Are you satisfied with your learning in this GS lesson? Give reasons.

I am quite satisfied with my learning in this GS lesson, as it helped me to improve on 'exploding the moment'. One of the weakest part of my composition is to describe on the crucial moments/climax, so this lesson is a great help to me.

    2. How do you feel about your group work in this GS lesson?

Our group worked efficiently as we discuss a lot, and we put a lot of our ideas across too. However, we should work on the sticky together rather than doing it individually, as it defeats the purpose of a GS lesson.

    3. Do you like the GS activities in this lesson? Give reasons.

I feel that the GS lessons can be more interactive and hands-on instead of just typing down everything in a sticky.

    4. Any suggestion for the following GS lesson?

The next GS lesson should have activities which encourages people to collaborate and be proactive in order to achieve a certain goal.

Are you satisfied with your learning in this GS lesson? Give reasons.
For this GS Lesson, I am satisfied, as I was able to recap this method of writing. I have learnt this in primary school before, and hence nothing was new.

How do you feel about your group work in this GS lesson?
The task was more suited for individual work, and hence the workload was unevenly divided. It was more of the ‘type-it-down-and-let’s-combine’ thing that was going on.

Our group worked efficiently/didn't work efficiently because we did not communicate as much, and we were unfocused on the task until the end of the time limit.

Do you like the GS activities in this lesson? Give reasons.
It was quite alright, as it mainly focuses on practicing the method of exploding the moment, but it could be down without the use of the platform. We could have used the blog instead, as many groups - from the screenshots, were more of doing individual work than group work.

Any suggestion for the following GS lesson?
The timing should be longer than 1 lesson, and the activities could be made to include more interaction and actual use of the platform.

  7. 1. Yes, I enjoyed this GS session as I managed to recap what we did for narrative writing and oil my rusty skills for composition writing.
    2. Our group did not really manage to work together to form a piece of work but we were somewhat effective as we came up with a few short individual exploded paragraphs.
    3. Yes, I like the activities in this lesson as it gives me a time to express my creativity into my writing via the use of adjectives. Also, an example was given before we started work, and we were more directed as we knew what exactly to do.
    4. We can include collaborations with different groups of people If there was more time as we would get to gain a wider pool of ideas for expression and creating of the atmosphere in our work.

  8. 1. I enjoyed this GS session as it refreshed my memory on how to write narratives. The "exploding the moment" exercise has helped me to understand and learn how to describe the person's emotions, the surroundings or even the atmosphere.

    2. The group was slightly disorganised as we had too "voices" which will lead to a less efficient discussion.

    3. The activities in this lesson is quite good. It gives me the space to dip into the situation and "view" the story in perspective. However, we should reduce the group size and perhaps fully utilise the GS platform

    4. We should include a "collaborative" activity between different groups to gain more and perhaps lengthen the GS session to two periods.

  9. Are you satisfied with your learning in this GS lesson? Give reasons.

Yes, I am. This was very helpful as I am still not very proficient at “exploding” the moment and making my writing more interesting. It is very detailed in terms of describing how the person experienced it and allows the reader to feel what is like to be in that position.

How do you feel about your group work in this GS lesson?
Our group worked efficiently/didn't work efficiently because...

We were able to work well individually but not as a group. We did not talk much to each other and mainly focused on our own writing. We are just not very willing to share our ideas with one another.

Do you like the GS activities in this lesson? Give reasons.

Yes, I do. It was helpful and engaging in a sense that it stimulated our thinking a lot. It was also very systematic and detailed.

Any suggestion for the following GS lesson?

I feel that GS lessons could be more interactive in which it allows group members to go to other groups to get ideas so that everyone can have a broader perspective of the subject and have a more comprehensive understanding of it.

  10. Yes I am satisfied with this GS lesson. I learnt a lot of new things (Exploding the Moment), and I believe this will greatly help me in my writing skills. The lesson gave me an insight into how to further elaborate an event and write every single detail fluently yet simply, such that the reader can feel it and even imagine it in slow motion.

Our group worked fairly well even after so long. There was some discussion, but at times the work was better fitted for individuals, so I did not contribute as much as I should.

Yes I do. It was constructive and well suited for learning.

If time allows I would like to go through a "gallery walk" across the boards as to give a better view of what can be learnt and improved.

  11. 1. Are you satisfied with your learning in this GS lesson? Give reasons.
I am alright with the learning in the GS lesson but I feel that it can be more fun.

    2. How do you feel about your group work in this GS lesson?
    - Our group worked efficiently because we are able to complete the task on time but we lack group work.

    3. Do you like the GS activities in this lesson? Give reasons.
I like the activities as they are new but I feel that it is more fun as I feel that it is very monotonous.

    4. Any suggestion for the following GS lesson?
I suggest that we can have activities that are more fun where there is more need for interaction rather than sitting and everyone doing their own part.

  12. 1. Are you satisfied with your learning in this GS lesson? Give reasons.

Yes at least we tried something new every lesson, which makes it more interesting

    2. How do you feel about your group work in this GS lesson?
    - Our group worked efficiently/didn't work efficiently because...
I think our group work well as we were able to finish the tasks on time

    3. Do you like the GS activities in this lesson? Give reasons.
Yes, it helps us in our compositions.

    4. Any suggestion for the following GS lesson?
I think we should do more comprehension practices and summary practices.

  13. Yes, I am satisfied, as I learnt about the effect of exploding the moment and the difference it makes in my composition.

My group worked quite well together, and we managed to understand each other while completing the tasks. We also tried to make each other's tasks easier by making our paragraphs fit together.

Yes, I liked the activities in this lesson, as they were helpful to my understanding of the lesson and the methods needed to explode the moment.

I would have liked to have group members come out and explain their paragraph and why they wrote it that way, as it might help the rest of us understand better and apply the same concepts to our writing.

  14. 1. Are you satisfied with your learning in this GS lesson? Give reasons.

Yes, I learnt how to use various adjectives and visuals to "explode the moment" and be able to describe the detail of one point in time of the climax.

    2. How do you feel about your group work in this GS lesson?

    - Our group worked didn't work efficiently because we were not communicating well. No one told each other what they were doing and we ended up doing our own different excerpts of the given content.

    3. Do you like the GS activities in this lesson? Give reasons.

No. There was not enough given instructions to finish the writing. I did not know how to do it properly just by hearing the example.

    4. Any suggestion for the following GS lesson?

Give out the instructions on how to finish the task, or how to write a particular composition in the specified way.

  15. 1. Are you satisfied with your learning in this GS lesson? Give reasons.
Yes, it was quite interesting and help us to improve our composition skills.

    2. How do you feel about your group work in this GS lesson?
My group was efficient in discussing the possible outcomes and exploded moment.

    3. Do you like the GS activities in this lesson? Give reasons
Yes, it was quite a fresh topic and interesting.

  16. 1. Yes, I feel that we learnt new things such as exploding the moment which helps with our compositions.

    2. I think our group works a little inefficiently as we do not really communicate for the best part of the lesson.

    3. Yes, it helps with different parts of our examination, though mostly our compositions.

    4. I think we should do other things besides the compositions.

  17. 1. Are you satisfied with your learning in this GS lesson? Give reasons.
Yes, I find the lesson interesting and it made good use of the platform to share information and ideas.

    2. How do you feel about your group work in this GS lesson?
Our group did not really work efficiently as I feel that there was not much interaction with regards to personal opinions relating to the topic itself.

    3. Do you like the GS activities in this lesson? Give reasons.
I like the GS activities in this lesson as the topic was fun to work at and I really enjoyed the use of GS platform to share my point of how to explode the point.

    4. Any suggestion for the following GS lesson?
Probably choose the more important things to go through due to the time constraints and thus make the lesson have more of a sense of accomplishment.

  18. Are you satisfied with your learning in this GS lesson? Give reasons.

I am satisfied with it to a small extend. I feel that more things can be accomplished during 50 minutes if we use more of face to face class discussions. However, one good thing about the GS lesson is that everyone’s idea will be posted. Nevertheless, I wish everyone’s post can be evaluated by the teacher and everyone can get feedbacks from the teacher for improvement.

How do you feel about your group work in this GS lesson?

Our group worked efficiently/didn't work efficiently because...

Our group work was not efficient because writing is an individual work whereby the sole helpful interaction will be the part whereby other people give feedbacks to build on our original posts.

Do you like the GS activities in this lesson? Give reasons.

I like it but I find it not as efficient as too few things were accomplished within the lesson time.

Any suggestion for the following GS lesson?

I hope to have everyone’s post to be viewed by the teacher and to have more face to face class discussions.
